Questions and Answers about Cell Phone Plans

What's a cell phone plan?

I've never had a cellphone in my life, and I've been using my iPod Touch 4G to text and call people. Obviously I can't use an iPod everywhere without a WiFi connection, so I'm considering a phone.

And I keep hearing, "cellphone plan" everywhere. What does this mean? And what types of "plans" are there?

Any extra advice about cell phones is very welcome (: Thanks.

Answer:

Cell phone plans let you take connectivity outside of the wifi area. So you want to make a call or send a text or even browse Facebook. You can do it anywhere(so long as you have service).

There are all different types of plans to suit your need. Some allow for more or less minutes. Some allow for data connectivity.

My favorite is Sprint with the Simply unlimited everything for $80. Many people will argue Sprint isn’t as good as Verizon or AT&T.

And they may be right but depending on how you use your phone will be what type of plan you use.

If you are going to be using your cell phone a lot(tons of web browsing and movie streaming) Sprint may be how you want to go as ATT and Verizon cap data usage at about 5gb after you pay for the upgrade. Then they start charging you per MB.

Also see what phone companies are best for where you will spend most of your time. T-Mobile or US Cellular may be a better choise for you. As a friendly reminder. Start reading more before asking such broad questions.

Who has the best cell phones and plans?

A Christmas gift for my wife. We do not have a cell phone. I am not impressed with what Cricket has to offer as far as cell phones are concerned. The nicest phones they had were out of stock. The iPhone is very nice but costly. Looking for a nice phone and a good deal/plan. Thanks.

Finding the best cell phone plan for "your" needs requires intelligence and careful research to avoid unnecessary expense. Because of the very large number of network services, it is wise to assess their offers before deciding on which one you wanna go with.

There are a variety of nice phones out there that are just as functional and cool as the iPhone, but without the hefty price tag…but what one considers nice/cool is relative.

I find that Sprint has the best coverage nationwide, and offer some pretty decent phones. You can check out and compare phones and plans directly here. Hope this helps…

How to choose a cell phone plan to suit my needs?

Answer:

The best way to choose a cell phone plan for yourself is to find all the cell phone carriers that are good in your area. Then either go online and look at the different plans and the prices that are charged.

Prices for different plans and phones vary widely from state to state and if you speak to a customer service representative you'll find that they are more than willing to answer your questions.

As for prepaid plans I have found them to be more expensive in my area than a post paid account. But most importantly pick a phone that you can live with for a few years. Hope this helps and good luck with your new phone.
